Coco Ichibanya @ One Utama

Are you a big fans of Japanese styled curry rice?
If yes, you should maybe dropby Coco Ichibanya for some delicious curry rice.
Thanks for Butterfly Projects for the invitation to have a food review session at Coco Ichibanya, One Utama.

Coco Ichibanya is one of the top curry rice restaurant chain in Japan and now they expand their business in US, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Philipines and of course Malaysia. They try to bring the original Japanese style curry rice to Malaysian.

There are japanese pickles (Tsukemono) and spice powder place on every table. If not mistaken, this is called Fukujinzuke (mixture of radish, lotus root, cucumber and eggplant which preserved in a soya sauce and sweet cooking wine (mirin) base. These sweet brown or red relish is served as a garnish to Japanese curry.

Our drinks for the night. Seriously need some cold drinks on this kind of hot weather.
Apple juice. Passion Peach tea. Honey Lemon.
Matcha Milkshake.

Standard level - Beef Yakiniku Curry Rice (Challenge accepted and accomplished)
Appearance more into cchinese cuisine 葱爆牛肉 (Fried beef with green onions) but there is a pool of curry sauce beside. Standard curry sauce is mild but taste different from what we normally have (eg. curry mee). Btw, the beef yakiniku  was tender and well seasoned.

Level 1 - Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry Rice (Challenge accepted and accomplished)
I pretty like this because I'm big fans for omelette and pork cutlet. When comes to the combination for this two ingredients with japanese curry sauce, IT MUST BE A WOW!!
You can dip your pork cutlet with hot curry sauce. Crispy and juicy. Meanwhile, rice taste good with curry sauce and creamy fluffy omelette.

Level 2 - Wagyu Beef Steak Curry Rice (Challenge accepted and accomplished)
Wagyu 和牛, literally "Japanese cow". Wagyu is known for its quality, and commands a high price. Wagyu beef here served remains pink inside. I'm not really a beef-lover so no comment on this.

Level 3 - Creamed Mushroom Omelette Curry Rice (Challenge accepted and accomplished)
Okay, never think about the combination of creamy foods and curry. But anyway, it turns out great! Both of them mix well with each other. And not forget, the omelette and curry sauce. My second love here.

Level 4 - Grilled Squid with Mayonnaise Curry Rice (Challenge accepted and accomplished)
Ehem this shall be looked a little plain because there's only a squid placed among curry sauce and rice. But this well-seasoned and grilled squid are matching perfectly with curry sauce. The grilled squid still being tender and doesn't taste like plain chewing gum.

Extra Level 5 curry sauce for us to have some try. I took few bites of these with rice. Hmm no kick at all. I just realise my spicy tolerance are pretty high.

Something refreshing before and after you take curry rice.
Smoked Salmon Salad Goma
Fresh and sweet salmon here with all the fresh vegetables, tomatoes and sesame dressing.

Bacon and Pumpkin Salad Goma
Something new for me. Never take any pumpkin salad before this and it's taste nicer than normal salad. Pumpkin taste even sweeter together with shoyu sauce and crispy bacon.

Girls have second stomach for desserts. Matcha and vanilla ice cream.
